Oxidation Resistant Transformer Oil

Transformer oil is an important insulating and heatdissipating medium used in transformers for power transmission and transformation projects, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safe operation of substations. As such, transformer oil must meet essential functional requirements, including insulation and heat dissipation, along with high withstand voltage and low dielectric loss as fundamental electrical performance metrics. With advancements in highvoltage power transmission technology, transformer oils are required to possess high oxidation stability, thermal stability, and effective resistance to gas precipitation. Additionally, strict control over trace water and particulate impurities has become necessary.

Product Details:Oxidation Resistant Transformer Oil

During the charged operation of a transformer, two types of losses occur: "copper consumption" and "core loss." These losses manifest as heat. If the heat generated in the coils is not dissipated, it will accumulate, leading to an increase in temperature within the iron core. This accumulation can damage the solid insulation surrounding the coil, potentially resulting in coil burnout. However, when transformer oil is used, the heat generated inside the coil is first absorbed by the oil. The oil then circulates, effectively dissipating the heat and ensuring the safe operation of the equipment.

1. Applicable Industry

Drilling equipment: Transformer oil serves as a lubricant, minimizing friction and wear, while ensuring the stability of equipment in high-temperature conditions.

Oilfield Electrical Equipment: In electrical equipment used in oilfields, transformer oil provides essential insulation and cooling, ensuring dependable performance in challenging environments.

Electric Locomotives: Within the electrical systems of electric locomotives, transformer oil is utilized to offer insulation, facilitate the safe transmission of electric current, and assist in heat dissipation.

Signal Systems: Transformer oil is employed in railroad signaling equipment to provide insulation, enhancing both the efficiency and safety of the signaling system.

2. Oil Change Inspection

When assessing a transformer, it is important to take into account its operational history and maintenance records. Frequent failures or a decline in performance may indicate a need to evaluate the oil quality and possibly replace it. Additionally, considering the design life and age of the transformer is crucial. If the transformer is nearing or has surpassed its expected lifespan, changing the transformer oil might be necessary to maintain safe operations.
