1. Main components:

Insulating oils are mainly composed of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and other low molecular compounds, which give them good chemical stability. In mineral insulating oils, the main components include chain alkane hydrocarbons (CH) and cycloalkane (CH) hydrocarbons. Synthetic insulating oils and vegetable oils, on the other hand, have their own unique chemical composition, but also have excellent chemical stability.


2. Chemical Properties:

The flash point and ignition point of insulating oils are usually high, which ensures that the equipment will not easily catch fire at high temperatures. Insulating oil has low density and moderate viscosity, these physical properties ensure its good fluidity and lubricity.


3. Technical Parameter

(1) Kinematic viscosity:Used to characterise the viscosity of insulating oils.Different types of insulating oils have different standard ranges of kinematic viscosity at specific temperatures.For example,the kinematic viscosity of certain types of insulating oils at 40°C may not exceed a specific value(e.g.13 mm²/s).

(2) Density:Indicates the degree of material densification of the insulating oil.The density value depends on the type and purity of the insulating oil and usually fluctuates within a certain range.

(3) Pour Point:Indicates the fluidity of the insulating oil at low temperatures.The lower the pour point,the better the fluidity of the insulating oil at low temperatures.For example,the pour point of some types of insulating oils may be below-22℃.

(4) Freezing point:indicates the freezing point of the insulating oil at low temperatures.Freezing point is also an important indicator of the low temperature performance of insulating oil.
