1. Working Principle
Mechanical Filtration: Solid impurities in the oil, including metal shavings, dust, and sludge substances, are directly intercepted by components like filter meshes and filter cores. These filters and cores feature different pore sizes and filtration precisions. Suitable specifications can be picked based on specific requirements to eliminate impurities of different sizes.
Adsorption Filtration: Activated carbon, silica gel and other adsorption materials are used to adsorb water, pigments, odors, and some small molecule impurities in the oil. Adsorbent materials have a large specific surface area and can adsorb these impurities onto their surface through physical adsorption, thus realizing the goal of oil purification.
Vacuum Separation: For oil with moisture, oil filters typically use the vacuum separation approach. In a vacuum environment, the moisture in the oil will rapidly transform into water vapor. Subsequently, the water vapor is cooled into liquid water by a condensing device and separated. This method can efficiently remove trace amounts of water from the oil, enhancing the quality of the oil.

Filtration accuracy represents a key indicator to assess the filtering power of an oil filter, usually given in micrometers (μm). There are common filtration accuracy values like 1 μm, 3 μm, 5 μm, 10 μm and others. When the value decreases, the oil filter has the ability to filter out tinier impurity particles, leading to an enhanced filtration result. For example, in certain aerospace or precision machining domains with an extremely high requirement for oil purity, oil filters having a filtration accuracy of 1 μm or even better may be selected.
