1. Oil Change Procedure
In the preparation phase, transformer oil that meets specifications is selected, along with all necessary tools and equipment for the oil change. During the process, the bottom drain valve is opened first to collect and dispose of the old oil properly. After cleaning the oil tank, a filtration unit is installed, through which preheated new oil is infused. During the oil change, attention is paid to venting to prevent air bubbles from mixing in. Post-oil change, electrical tests are conducted to verify that transformer performance remains unaffected.
2. Physical and Chemical Performance Testing
Moisture Concentration: Moisture is a significant contributor to the insulation properties of transformer oil, requiring regular moisture content analysis to ensure stability.
Viscosity Assessment: The viscosity of transformer oil is fundamental to its cooling capabilities. Testing viscosity ensures that the oil can effectively dissipate heat during high-temperature operations while maintaining adequate fluidity in colder environments.
Combustion Thresholds: Flash point and ignition point serve as crucial benchmarks for assessing the flammability of transformer oil. Lower values may signify a heightened risk of oil volatility and ignition, thereby increasing the likelihood of fire incidents.
