Silicone-Based Transformer IEC 60296 Transformer Oil
In switchgear systems, transformer oil is primarily utilized for arc extinguishing. When an oilimmersed switch disconnects a power load, an arc forms between the fixed and moving contacts. The temperature of this arc can become exceedingly high, risking equipment burnout and leading to overvoltage that may damage the device. As the oilimmersed switch begins its opening and closing process, the intense heat generated by the arc causes the oil to undergo significant thermal decomposition, resulting in about 70% hydrogen production. Thanks to hydrogen's high thermal conductivity (41), it can absorb considerable heat and conduct it to the oil, which cools the contacts and effectively extinguishes the arc.
Product Details:Silicone-Based Transformer Insulating Oil
Insulating oil, also referred to as a liquid insulating medium or insulating fluid, is a specialized liquid utilized to electrically isolate conductors of varying potentials. It fills the voids within or between solid material poles, augmenting their dielectric strengths and bolstering heat dissipation within electrical equipment. This essential insulating material is instrumental in electrical systems, and its proper usage and maintenance are crucial for ensuring their continuous and safe operation.
