High Oxygen Stability Insulating Oil

In a broad sense, transformer oil is classified according to its production from either paraffinbased or naphthenic crude oil. With the advancements in hydrogenation and reforming techniques, paraffinbased crude oil can now also yield transformer oil that exhibits characteristics similar to naphthenic crude oil. When assessing transformer oil base oils, besides the usual physical and chemical properties, a prevalent method involves examining the carbon structure, commonly known as family composition. This carbonbased structure treats the complex base oil as a single molecule, which consists of three structural components: aromatic rings, naphthenic rings, and alkyl side chains. The Cp value represents the proportion of carbon atoms in the alkyl side chain compared to the total carbon atoms in the entire molecule.

Product Details:High Oxygen Stability Insulating Oil

For transformers, capacitors, and cables, the preferred choice of insulating oils is mineral insulating oils processed from naphthenic crude oils. As insulating oils for electrical appliances, they must exhibit stable physical and chemical properties under the influence of electromagnetic fields and other environmental factors to guarantee the safety and reliability of electrical equipment. The refining of these insulating oils should prioritize naphthenic hydrocarbons as the main components, ensuring an adequate presence of stable aromatic hydrocarbons while striving to eliminate paraffinic hydrocarbons, which can easily cleave due to their elongated straightchain structure.

1. Environmental Friendliness of Transformer Oil

Recycling and reuse: Transformer oils can be treated through various physical and chemical processes to remove contaminants and impurities, thereby reinstating their effectiveness.

Reclaimed Oil: Reprocessed transformer oils can achieve performance characteristics similar to fresh oils, which helps reduce resource wastage and the need for new materials. The use of recycled oil is both economical and beneficial for the environment.

2. Factors Affecting Service Life

A transformer's design life has a crucial impact on the life expectancy of its oil. Usually, this design life is determined by the anticipated lifespan of the oil. Thus, during the design life, the transformer oil must be capable of meeting the operational requirements. Environmental conditions, including high temperatures, humidity, and pollution, can also affect the service life of transformer oil. Under adverse conditions, the oil may age more quickly, resulting in a shorter lifespan.
