Oil-immersed transformers are similar to transformers in construction. It is one of the transformer types categorized by the form of core insulation. Therefore, it has the recognizable characteristics of an oil-immersed coil, which reduces the heat map of the equipment in it. The basic elements of the oil-immersed type consist of the core, windings and casing. The core provides a path for the magnetic currents and the winding creates a magnetic field and consists of a coil of conductors wound around the core and insulated with a cardboard barrier and shield.
