TSCA Compliant Dielectric Fluid

Benzyltoluene is featured by outstanding insulating and dielectric properties, low viscosity, a high boiling point, and high thermal stability. It has a wide range of uses in the electric power and petrochemical industries as a capacitor impregnating agent and heat - conducting oil. Besides, due to its strong gas - absorbing capacity and high hydrogen storage density, it has a promising future as a hydrogen storage carrier in the new energy field. As industrial technology develops continuously, the domestic demand for benzyltoluene products with excellent performance is bound to grow larger.

Product Details

Product Details:TSCA Compliant Dielectric Fluid

Benzyl chloride reacts with toluene to form one benzyl toluene (MBT) and two benzyl toluene (DBT), and the obtained MBT and DBT have good thermal stability, wide range of operating temperature, no corrosiveness and strange odor, and are heat transfer oils with excellent comprehensive performance.

1. Quality Index

Pour point: Generally around -40 ℃ to -50 ℃, a low pour point allows the insulating oil to remain liquid at low temperatures without affecting the performance of the capacitor due to solidification.

Acid value: The acid value is usually less than 0.05mgKOH/g. The lower the acid value, the better the chemical stability of the insulating oil, and the less corrosive it is to the electrodes and insulation materials of the capacitor.

Moisture: The moisture content is generally required to be less than 50ppm. Excessive moisture can significantly reduce the insulation performance of the insulating oil, increase dielectric loss, and even cause breakdown inside the capacitor.

2. Application Areas

Power capacitors: Power capacitors are used in large quantities in reactive power compensation and filtering of power systems. Capacitor oil is used as insulation and cooling medium to ensure the stable operation of power capacitors under the working conditions of high voltage and high current, to improve the power factor of the power system, to reduce the line loss, and to improve the quality of power.
